Hidden "About" Box in Adobe Photoshop CS4 Extended (Mac OS X)
Hold the Command (⌘) key while selecting "Photoshop - About Photoshop" in the Menu Bar.
In my Adobe Photoshop CS4 my 3d menu is not activated how can I activate it?
A couple of things could cause this:
- Are you using Photoshop CS4 Extended? Only this version offers 3d.
- try resetting the preference file first - <Alt><Control><Shift> (pc) or <Option><Command><Shift> (mac) (warning - will get rid of your settings!)
- How much ram do you have? Photoshop CS4 is quite 'hungry' for memory, especially in combination with 3d. Fiddle around with the ram settings in your Photoshop preferences. A number of people reported problems with a greyed out 3d menu in combination with a setting that was set too high. So try decreasing the ram used. Otherwise, you may have to get more ram - 2gb is a good start for Photoshop CS4.
- Are you working in RGB mode? Any other mode is not supported when working with 3d. Switch to RGB first before trying to import a 3d model.
- What kind of graphics card do you have? Built-in graphics like Intel does not work well (if at all) with opengl in Photoshop. To reap the benefits of CS4's hardware acceleration, you will need a reasonable modern Opengl compatible video card.
- And, according to Adobe: "If your 3D menu is grayed out it typically means there is no 3D Engine in the Plugins menu: C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS4\Plug-ins"
Try to re-install the plugin.
First check if you are working in RGB - if yes, check the other points.
